The Rocky Mountain Bike Festival was last weekend and Poppy Sports was there in force to meet and greet all the riders of the Denver Century Ride that was alongside the festival. We thought out women’s bike jerseys and cycling apparel needed a little vacation so we took them with us to meet potential new owners and show themselves off a little.
Many of the women bikers we met were prepping for the Venus de Miles in August and took one of our bike jerseys home to help with the training! We’ll be seeing them again in August and cannot wait to see the jerseys in action.
The faves of the show were definitely the Daisy Dude jersey and shorts and the Shebeest sleeveless bike jerseys. We sold out of our personal faves the Recofit arm coolers, cool white moisture-radiating fabric that offers a cooling effect as the wetness evaporates from your arms as well as offering UPF50 protection; a must for summer riding.
We met with the folks organizing the Deer Creek Challenge, a second year bike ride with 30, 60 and 100 mile routes in
Deer Creek Canyon outside of Denver. With 12,000 ft of climbing the 100 miler is not for the untrained, but being at the end of the season, it is great last challenge to see the results of summer training. Poppy Sports hopes to take a team there this year to cover all distances and our thighs are trembling!
We met with some other great companies local to Colorado who are all creating some innovative products for the avid cyclist. Watch out for some of these on the Poppy Sports site soon.
We have other events coming up this summer, so watch our for us at a cycling show near you soon! Do you know of a cool bike festival in your area? Let us know as we’d love to come along and meet you.
